The bachelor and master programs provided by our department were both certificated by "Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT)" in 2009.
The bachelor program aims to educate students with principles of medical imaging (X-ray, CT, US, MRI, SPECT, PET), medical physics (radiological physics, imaging physics, nuclear medicine physics), and radiological technologies. After three years education, students are required to intern for at least 7 months in three departments (radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology) in medical centers of Taiwan, and are given the bachelor degree afterwards.
The master program aims to educate students with advanced knowledges in the field of medical imaging and radiological sciences. Students are required to conduct relevant researches in those fields and complete a research study, in addition to the required class credits, to earn a master degree.
Our department provides plenty of teaching and research facilities in order to satisfy students' need of learning. Some facilities, such as electronic devices and software, were placed in the laboratories and classrooms of our department, and some large medical instruments, such as X-ray generator, CT, MRI, PET, SPECT, tomotherapy, or linear acclerator, were situated in KMU Chung-Ho memorial hospital. Students will learn how to use and operate those facilities during four-year education in KMU.
